A step-by-step guide to get free samples at Sephora.com (or Sephora.ca)

1. Go to Sephora.com (Sephora.ca or more), add product(s) to your basket by clicking ADD TO BASKET button.

2. Go to your basket by clicking BASKET button (top right). In this image I have 1 product in my cart and I can pick 3 free samples from the choice in the right box.

3. Click ADD to choose 3 samples to your cart.

It is Sephora’s free loyalty program. Sign up online (required your email) at this page or in store. You will receive a point for every dollar that you spend ($1 = 1 point).  Here are the list of Sephora Beauty Insider benefits:

1. Anytime you want, you can redeem your points (100-point, 250-point or 500-point) for free gifts. They also offer Epic Rewards every August. For 1000 – 10k points, you can get really epic rewards set start from $150 range to flying all the way to France!

2. Beauty Insiders get a totally free birthday gift. Totally FREE and no purchase required in store. Sorry that you have to make a purchase to get it online and ship to your home. 3. You will get access to free mini makeup lessons.

4. You will get exclusive invitation to in store events. Sephora inside JCPenney has different events and free samples from regular Sephora. See this page for their events.

5. If you spend $350 or more in a calendar year, you will move up to VIB status, and $1,000 earns you VIB Rouge status.

  • VIB gets all BI benefits, step up birthday gift, VIB only samples.

You can add the fourth deluxe sample to your cart by using a promo code YOURGIFT. Once you enter the code, new page will pop up and let you choose your sample as shown in an image above. They are usually much nicer selection than the ones in beauty samples page. FYI – “Sample” from Sephora is usually referred to packette samples, whereas “Deluxe sample” is referred to a larger size sample which usually last for a few days.

With every $25 Sephora online purchase, you can pretty much get AT LEAST 4 free samples. Shop around! In stead of the code YOURGIFT, you also have plenty of choices to add the fourth sample to your cart. Visit weekly deals page here or all deals offered by Sephora in beauty deals page here to see active promo codes. Some code will require specific status either Beauty Insider, VIB or VIB rouge. Most code requires a minimum $25 purchase, rarely requires a minimum $35 purchase.

There is also a small link VIEW CURRENT PROMO under the promo code box in your basket page. Once you click, there is more options for current promo (include free magazine sub deals for 1 year). Occasionally, there are some special links for Sephora sample bags that won’t show in any previous pages. For example, Sephora.com/refresher that provided 12pc samples option for $25 purchase (expired but see my post here if you are curious).

Sephora facebook page is another source of code. Occasionally, they will launch some code that can only use for 1 day. New promo code usually release on Friday.

Standard three-day shipping is $5.95 for orders less that $50 or free for orders more than $50. Two-day shipping is $10.95 and one-day shipping is $16.95.

There is a new program from Sephora to let you pay $10 for a one-year unlimited free 2-day shipping (no minimum) called Sephora Flash. I have signed up for this program and it is very easy. You can simply link it to your Sephora rewards (Beauty Insider, VIB or VIB rouge) by log in to your account and go through this Sephora Flash link. PSST… this subscription can be combined in your minimum purchase! Add $15 product then you will get the fourth sample(s) and free shipping!

Returns

You can return Sephora products within 60 days for a full refund. Plus return shipping is free for online purchases (return label is included with your order). Late returns sent in between 61 and 90 days are only refunded with store credit. Within the 60-day period without your receipt, you can still make an exchange or get store credit with your ID (in store). Gently used products (hmm…) may be exchanged or get store credit (depends on each store).
