Barneys Love Yourself 2016 Review

My first impressions – fell in love with the skincare curation! Nine most distinguish brands and awesome selection to represent Barneys as a destination for high-end skincare. Seven samples/full size items are from the hair or bath & body departments. Next up is the six travel size makeup items. Three fragrance samples are also provided in the sample bag.

3LAB Super Eye Treatment Review | Full size $450 (.66oz)

3LAB uses the latest innovations, including Nano-Claire GY ingredients (a bio-engineered growth hormone) in their skincare. Only a handful of Barneys and Nordstrom stores carry them. The “3” in the 3LAB represents the three owners, two chemists and one MD. I’ve always wanted to try their breakthrough formula.

The product texture is a lightweight gel – no color. Within seconds of applying it to my eye area, it’s absorbing immediately and really brightened my eyes. It contains colorless and fine mica that almost shimmers – you barely see it. I don’t see any added fragrance but it has a very light scent. My makeup goes on over this eye treatment very smoothly. I don’t understand the science behind their new technology but it’s definitely worth a try if you are struggling with major hydration.

SISLEY-PARIS Sisleÿa Essential Skin Care Lotion Review | Full size $185 (5oz)

This French brand is without a doubt famous. Most of the products are intensively researched in the company’s personalized laboratories. 3LAB and this item are the first two samples I tried right away. This item is recommended as the 1st step of the anti-aging skin care routine. You can simply massage it or use a cotton pad.

This gel-like lotion is more runny and feels very light on the skin. It sinks into the skin within seconds. It instantly hydrates my skin and smells so good.  From the brand – and after 4 weeks, signs of aging are reduced and skin appears visibly younger. This is a very chic product to add to your night time routine.

Rituals Foaming Shower Gel in T’ai Chi Review | Full size $15 (200ml)

This product is pretty incredible. Each fragrance of this rich gel is inspired by an Eastern tradition. T’ai  Chi is formulated from white lotus & Yi Yi Ren. It turns into a luxurious foam when it comes into contact with water. The gel foams up instantly into a thick lather, which moisturizes and nourishes skin. All we have to do is smooth it on – no loofah needed. I immediately felt pampered with minimal effort.

What a great find from Barneys! I highly recommend it. I will buy this product and other scents from Rituals for my very Zen Spa at home. The packaging is great too, it looks fantastic in the bathroom.

Shu Uemura Art of Hair Color Lustre Dry Cleaner – Dry Shampoo Review | Full size $39

This conditioner is light enough to use everyday. It washes out really easily and leaves hair feeling gorgeous to the touch and to the nose . . . It smells divine like Sakura.

I only tried it once and expect it to get better with every use. It does not weigh hair down with unnecessary ingredients. My hair is shiny. It has a fabulous fresh smell and leaves my hair in great condition. A real treat to use!

By Terry Baume de Rose Nutri Color N°7 Review | Full size $56 (0.24 oz) Available in 8 shades

This is a tinted version of cult favorite Baume de Rose. I do find this to be the miracle that many have found it to be. It’s a rich care formula with 48 active ingredients. Her lip balm keeps up high quality with a faint rosy and sweet scent. To me it does not feel like putting on a regular lip balm. It’s thick but not a bit sticky with decent lasting power. It’s extremely soothing and rich with no taste. It makes a nice emollient barrier.

I don’t have any real lip troubles. Sometimes, they are prone to drying out and peeling with a few brands. I find the emollient barrier remains up to 6 hours. This lip balm is quite expensive but it’s well worth a luxurious splurge.

This shade N°7 is a nude milky pink. This lip balm is on the natural side. It’s translucent color for a naturally innocent look.

N°8 is the prism one – This wonderful melt of multi-reflective prisms is in fusion with the original baume de rose texture. Have you tried it?

La Mer The Moisturizing Soft Crème Review | Full size $2,060 (500ml)

This is the new texture of the famous Crème de la Mer. If you find the original formula is truly a life changing item, you will see a transformation in this one as well. It makes a huge difference. For me it’s almost identical, just a little bit lighter and softer. Although pricey, a little goes a long way. It is the one item that you should spend that kind of money on.

Chantecaille Fruit and Flower Acids Mask Review | Full size $88 (1.7oz)

This Chantecaille creamy mask has a soft heavenly mix of rose and fruit scents – very unique. There’s a lot of glycolic acid in this product. I am not a big user of glycolic acid masks (they work better on dry skin).

As it turns out, I sample it and it gives my face a slight tingly feeling which I love! It works! It left my skin more radiant and smooth from the first application. I can feel the tingling when I apply toner later on. That’s how I know it  truly clarified my skin. This is an effective yet gentle acid mask.

Rene Furterer 5 Sens Enhancing Hair & Body Dry Oil Review | Full size $52 (100ml)

I start this sample and fall in love with the product within the first usage. The dry oil texture is incredibly refined – so light and not greasy at all. It gets absorbed into the skin immediately unlike some cream or regular oil.

In addition to reducing my dryness due to the season change, I notice my dry flaky patches are treated too!! I haven’t tested it on my hair yet but I am considering buying a full size. It’s an incredible product that can double as a perfume oil very well.

Quick take

Barneys is wowing me with great assortments of luxurious beauty products in their sample bag! I’ve never gone through so many samples in two days like I’ve done with this bag. I am truly pampered with all these new samples I’ve never touched before. If you have a sensitive nose for fragrances, this sample bag will delight you. The brands they picked have noticeable scents but are not overpowering.
