IcanGWP Review: What’s going on with “The Estee Edit”? The Estée Edit, an 82-piece makeup collection, is designed for millennials! Can they win over 18- to 34-year-olds and why? Pew Research Center reported that the Millennial age group was projected to grow to 75.3 million in 2015, surpassing the 74.9 million Baby Boomers (defined as ages 51 to 69).
The packaging: they adapt it to a Millennial consumer by delivering it as a cobalt paint splatter on outer packaging.
The concept: according to Estee Lauder, “Problem/solution suggestions that there’s something wrong and you have to fix it, which isn’t how Millennials think”. E.g., Lip Flip, a canary yellow lipstick to lighten or a black lipstick to deepen lip shades, two transformers eyeshadow (sold out) with black light technology (glow in the dark under the right lighting), Flash Photo Gloss, a blue-tinged lip gloss which is said to make teeth look whiter immediately and Gritty & Glow Magnetic Eye and Face Palettes, two palettes featuring six shades each that are formulated with tiny pearl particles for the most elegant, glistening sheen.

The left sample comes in a big tube while the right sample comes in a small container on the top. I like the left product. It is basically a strobing BB cream. The texture is light and easy to use. The balm-like spot highlighter is a little too thick for my combination skin and it slides and falls off. Do you have some Estee Lauder Edit samples from Sephora since March? More than a million samples will be distributed to customers. Some of the products in the line sound gimmicky. Do they actually work for you?

IcanGWP review: I like it on my arm but I can’t figure out how to make it pop on my cheeks. It’s so lightweight – like tint. This shade is so very pretty. It gives such an innocence flush. I have to use so much of the product though. Use a brush or BeautyBlender because it stains my fingers quite a bit.

IcanGWP Review: This very lightweight gel mask is so refreshing and not sticky and does not leave any annoying film. If you are into the 10-step K-beauty routine, this is a promising overnight mask! The ingredients are okay, nothing magic nor risky either (contains a little bit of fragrance).

IcanGWP Review: It has a divine floral scent. Almost no color. No hydrogen peroxide smell, no sting, no burn. I didn’t notice any changes after one use. I think it will take months.

IcanGWP Review: The wand is huge and designed to group your lashes together. It’s a wet formula with a lot of fibers. I have to clean up the tip of the wand to prevent clumps. I tried wiggle and no-wiggle technique, and I prefer the wiggle approach. It looks like a more defined version of “Too faced better than sex mascara”. The no-wiggle is appropriate to the wing part – it’s a pretty dramatic look. I’m extremely impressed with this luxury mascara.
Quick Take:
This 8-piece mystery bag is a good mix of makeup, skincare, haircare and fragrance. I was unlucky and got a cologne sample this time. I like both samples from Estee Lauder. The Sephora overnight sleeping mask is also fun to try since we do not have many in the market yet. In the subscription world nowadays, we might have to pay $10 to get these samples.
