So I’d like to share my Sephora birthday gift 2017 reviews, swatches and instructions how to get your Sephora birthday gift below. Plus, in this post I’ll share the SpaceNK and Ulta birthday gifts I received this year too! Such a treat for beauty junkies like us!

How to get Sephora birthday gift: 2017 edition

What is the coupon code for Sephora Birthday gift? We don’t need one! The first step to get your free Sephora Birthday Gift is to sign up (free) to be a Beauty Insider on this page.

Sephora has 3 kinds of membership:

• Beauty Insider (BI) – Totally free, free birthday gift, free reward products
• VIB – spend $350, all BI benefits, plus VIB only samples
• VIB rouge – spend $1k, get all VIB benefits, all VIB rouge only samples, plus free shipping and a free Sephora Flash Subscription (regularly $10 per year)

To get your birthday gift sign up to Beauty Insider, provide your birthday here, and 14 days before and after your birthday, you can get this free Sephora birthday gift 2017 from Tarte, Caudalie or Jack Black (online only).

Then 14 days before your birthday (if you set up your account to receive their newsletters), you will get the email “Happy (early) Birthday, your name”. It’s time!

There are two ways you can get your Sephora birthday gift:

1. Go online and order something with your Beauty Insider account. Go to Sephora Birthday Gift 2017 official page and click REDEEM YOUR GIFT. At checkout, you should see the birthday gift of your choice, and no coupon code is needed (14 days before and after your birthday). Plus, you can use any coupon code your desire with your purchase. 2. Go to their store and show your membership card (or tell them your registered email or phone number), then you can redeem your gift (ask for option) with no purchase required! FYI – This year they asked me to show my ID.

Sephora Birthday Gift 2017 Caudalie Duo (Skincare Option)

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum | Full size $79

Reveal brighter, more even skin and reduce the appearance of dark spots such as acne marks, scars, and sun spots with this satiny serum. This cult product is highly concentrated with naturally powerful viniferine, an ingredient from the grape vine sap that is clinically proven to be 62 times more effective than vitamin C. The lightweight formula allows for immediate penetration and works well under makeup for flawless-looking skin.

Tip: apply this noncomedogenic formula under daily sunscreen for a more even tan. Vinoperfect Serum’s viniferine inhibits the production of tyrosinase, which in turn regulates the melanin leaving you with smooth, even tan. For best results, use Vinoperfect Day Moisturizer SPF 20 in the morning and Vinoperfect Overnight Renewal Night Cream in the evening. Viniferine, a natural compound found in vine sap known to brighten, lighten, and even skin appearance, was patented by Caudalie in 2004.

Sephora Birthday Gift 2017 Tarte Duo Review and Swatch (Makeup option)

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Paaarty | Full size $28

(a $7 value) The average review on Sephora’s site is 4.6.

I can GWP review: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush is Infused with natural clay harvested from the banks of the Amazon River. According to Tarte, this product will minimize oil in and around pores to balance skin and keep product in place for oily skin types. Housed in a plastic case without a mirror, this is a wonderful talc-based, pressed-powder blush. It gives a very young and flattering, translucent, blushing-from-within look! The finish is a real soft matte but not overly matte that it makes dry skin appear parched. This buzz-worthy blush doesn’t highlight large pores or imperfections. It’s a great option for those with oily skin! It holds up to its long-wear claims (around 9 hours for me).

The shade Paaarty, Sephora exclusive, looks like calm pink with a hint of lavender in the package. Once applied it is a warm attractive peachy hue. It’s not bright but rather subtle, natural, peachy-flush color.  It created a matte finish with no hint of shimmer or sparkle. Though it’s not flat, either. This product does not contain any fragrance, that’s a plus for sensitive skin.

I find I built color gradually—otherwise, it’s easy to go overboard with this product. Use a very light hand and a soft, fluffy brush will help!

Tarte Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit | Full size $20

(a $3.4 value) The average review on Sephora’s site is 3.4.

According to Sephora –

Suggested Usage:
-Use the tarteist™ paint brush wand applicator to paint on luxe, longwearing lip color.
-First, use the precision felt tip to trace pigmented color the upper and lower lip line.
-Then, shade inside the lip line using the soft, flat applicator surface.
-Apply one layer for a subtle matte finish or two layers for a dramatic, opaque lip look.
-Tarte’s tip: Apply after the tarteist lip crayon (sold separately) to perfectly prime and enhance your natural lip line.

I can GWP review: The package is a regular lip gloss with sponge tip applicator. I like the sponge that it is narrow and it’s tipped a bit – so easy when you use it. It contains a little bit of minty scent (peppermint oil) and gives a little cooling affect. Its texture feels so cushiony smooth. Pigment-wise, you can expect somewhere between semi-sheer to full coverage depending on which shade you choose and how much you layer it on.

The average review score is very poor because people think that it is very streaky. The non-nude shades seem to get a lot of love. This shade is unfortunately a quite nude-y coral. If you gravitate to nude shade lip products, you’ll probably have a more realistic bar for the latest nude lip paint birthday gift from Sephora. This shade, Birthday Suit, provides full coverage and is a very good option for creating a sophisticated yet natural-hued nude lip look. It doesn’t have shimmer, sheen, sparkle or flavor.

I highly recommend to prep your lips well before this (extremely) matte finish product. I tried to wear it alone and with lip balm, and the results were no good (for winter – to be fair). I scrubbed and then used the lip primer (Urban Decay Ultimate Ozone Multipurpose Primer Pencil). Voila! You’ll own a stunning expertly crafted nude matte lips! I am not recommending this product for those with lots of wrinkles on their lips, it will exaggerate it (unless you have a good lip primer). It’s also not appropriate for people that prefer moisturizing formula lip products. The swatch below is from one application and it covered my arm quite well.

Price-wise, I gasped at home once I realized I picked $10.40 worth of Sephora birthday gifts instead of $35.97. Good thing I enjoyed what I picked.
