A group of biotechnology scientists based in San Francisco introduced Alguronic acid extracted from algae and claimed “powerful regenerative compound produced by microalgae that functions to protect and regenerate the single-celled organism in harsh environmental conditions.”
Algenist POWER Recharging Night Pressed Serum, a highly concentrated solid serum, is so emollient and hydrating. This lightly fragrant serum is super fast absorbing with a silky, slippery feel and no greasy residue! It leaves skin so soft, feeling ultra-hydrated and well protected. What really impressed me is the texture. It has the consistency of luxury facial balm. The thickest serum I’ve ever tried. It almost like frosting on a cake, just beautiful and it immediately melts and penetrates. I find it feels amazing in dry winter months and my skin does seem deeply plumped and happy.
The following morning, after applications two nights before, I put on the BB cream and finish it with translucent powder. I noted my skin was left looking smoother. Thanks to the coconut water (rich in fatty acids, amino acids and vitamins), the proteins, collagen, peptides, green tea, alpha-glucan, nutrient oils and zillion algae things that recharge, tighten and strengthen the skin’s appearance and skin’s condition.
I adore this serum and have used it almost every night. It treated the dry patch on my cheek in 3 nights. It really is amazing to tackle stubborn dryness if you have any. Bravo! I can grab Algenist POWER serum sometime when I can’t afford La Mer. Goodies from the sea are quite something!
As a side note, this product doesn’t contain exfoliant or retinol. It’s free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates and alcohol. It contains silicone but I have no breakout from consecutive usage. The jar is 2 oz not 1 oz like most serums on the market.
