Erno Laszlo Phormula 3-9 Eye Repair review (0.03 oz.) | Full size $180

Nonirritating; Phthalate-free; paraben-free; petrolatum-free; sulfate-free; colorant-free; mineral oil-free

IcanGWP Review: Erno Laszlo makes nice gentle but effective products. You might have heard about their Phormula line started in the 1920s in Hungary (started from 3-1). Their products have won over many celebrities including Hungary’s princess Stephanie or Marilyn Monroes (Google Marilyn Monroes Cream!). People have used the infamous Phormula 3-9 repair cream ($275) in so many ways, not only for extreme dry skin, but also to treat after Retin-A, burn, or rash. The Phormula 3-9 eye repair is less well-known. The silky texture soothes and calms. There’s an interesting blend of decent oils in the formula. I wouldn’t expect a lot in terms of hydration or moisturization but it’s a perfect product to complement our regular routine– a few days per week, just to get the anti-ageing performance. One warning – it rolled up.

Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing Concentrate review (0.05 oz.) | $62 – $102

IcanGWP Review: This is one of the vitamin C serums that I repurchase for years. The formula is unbeatable. It is chock full of goodies, no fragrance and no alcohol. It really is powerful yet gentle enough for everyday usage. People who cannot tolerate retinol products find this is a good alternative for a firmer and glowing skin.

When I apply it, I like to soak my face with gentle toner because it will help the vitamin C absorb better. Sometimes I spray more toner after I apply the serum. It heats up my skin and makes a little tingling reaction. Totally from vitamin C (which is 10.5% ascorbic acid, after all) not anything nasty. It contains silicone quite a bit and my combination skin can’t handle it without being so clogged during hot summer days but other than that, you won’t be disappointed. This product has proven to be very effective for me. Full size bottle comes with a pump and it keeps oxygen out. It will be stable for a while. The price is very good too.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser Review (0.13 oz.) | Full size $38

IcanGWP review: This gel cleanser reminds me of putting slices of fresh cucumber on my face, very refreshing. Some people say their faces are too dried out. I have combination skin and I think that it is nice.

Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick review sampler (8 shades, 0.005 oz. each) | Full size $28

IcanGWP Review: This is an amazing matte lipstick from Laura Mercier. I love the pigment, extreme matte finish, non-drying, great price, easy to apply and long wear. Two things that make it outstanding compared with other matte lippies: its texture and pigment are just right so that I can overdraw my lip line without using concealer to fake a larger canvas. Plus, it appears so pretty on the lips. I tried the nude pink shade Golds and it looks exactly like the model’s lip on the package.

Clinique 3-Step Reivew Regimen for Skin Type 2, Dry Combination (0.05 oz. each)

IcanGWP Review: I love getting this 3-step sample from Clinique. I don’t care for their toner (I wish that they would bring their mild clarifying toner back) but steps 1 and 3 are awesome.

Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum review & Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream reivew (0.1 oz. each)

IcanGWP Review: The serum packette is almost empty and has too much Lavender, not a fan. I have tried the night cream, I don’t hate it but it doesn’t wow me. The guacamole-green cream is so rich and nourishing but the scent is like grandma, also not a fan.

Saturday Skin Featherweight Daily Moisturizing Cream Review (0.06 oz.)

Skin Inc. Pure Revival Peel Review (0.1 oz.) | Full size $55

IcanGWP Review: There are 812 reviews of this item on the Sephora’s site and the average score is 4.6. The white gel is light and has a light pleasant citrus scent. I think that the texture and how it works on the skin is very interesting. The gel felt slippery and added instant hydration – a water glow look. Then it takes time to dry down, felt a little bit tight, then it sets and gives beautiful matte finish. My skin is soft. I tested this product right after Skin Inc Pure Revival Peel. After half an hour, my T-Zone has become extremely oily. Either product or both of them stressed out my oil production in some way.

Verdict

I really like the Laura Mercier matte lipstick and the Erno Laszlo eye repair. It’s fantastic that they work on my lips and eyes beautifully. I wouldn’t have known. It’s a good beauty gift bag especially if you combine it with beauty sale items, a Men’s gift bag or brand specific GWP.
