So there’s one important detail on the Nordstrom card. You only get that extra $20 NOTE on the day you are approved for the card (I went with applying for their store card). That means, if you are like me and only do online, you can’t actually get the NOTE with $100 purchase unless you are in store and are approved on the spot,. BUT, I talked to customer service and found a way around it. Since I was approved online today and can’t possibly be there (90 miles away), they said to place a $100 minimum order today on another card and keep the order number handy, so that when the actual card arrives in 5-7 days, I can then call Customer Service and have them issue me the NOTE for the purchase I made on the day I was approved.
Does this make sense? I think it’s important because I planned to wait until the card got here (during that great Lancome train case offer) to do the $100 purchase but they said absolutely not.
So your options are do as I did above or wait until you are ready with your $100 order to apply for their card. Hope this helps!
