Highlighter and contour items are all the rage these days. I’ve been very happy with Sephora Favorites kits so far (22 kits available online). When they come up with this kit, I decided to try to their new glowing baby. So, hit or miss? Let’s find out below!

Suggested Usage:
-Wear on the high points of the face to accentuate your features.
-Blend with your favorite foundation or moisturizer for an all-over glow.

IcanGWP: The performance matches Becca’s reputation. This lightweight fluid goes on stunning either applied on its own or mixed into another product. You can use just a small amount for a subtle highlighting effect, or build the results for a more intense look. Try experimenting with a range of application techniques to see what works best for you. For me, I found this product works better over foundation compared to under or mixed with foundation. The formula lasts throughout the workday without fading.
Moonstone is a pale gold highlighter (no shimmer). It’s the second lightest one. It’s infused with ultrafine light-reflecting pearls. This shade adds effortless gold radiance and should be workable for any skin type. It doesn’t add visible glitter or sparkle on skin.
You can also get the travel-friendly size duo of Becca illuminator for $20 here (two options). There are 5 more shades: Pearl, Rose Gold, Opal, Topaz and Champagne Pop that vary in color from a silver pearl to a deep bronze. Also, it’s a fragrance free product.

Benefit’s bestselling highlighter turns up the wattage with a delicate, champagne glow and soft-focus effect. Its smooth application and luminous sheen switches on the “wow” factor for any complexion. Apply it to cheeks and browbones, then then sculpt the complexion with the soft-glow blender to achieve the perfect gleam.
Suggested Usage:
-Glide Benefit’s watt’s up! where the sun would normally touch the face to highlight: cheekbones, browbones (under the arches), down the bridge of the nose, and the cupid’s bow.
-Next, sculpt with its soft glow blender to lift and contour the face.
-It can be applied solo or over existing makeup.
IcanGWP: Look at the size of this deluxe sample from Benefit! This product offers a gorgeous alternative to pressed powder highlighters. The cream-to-powder formula pairs and blends well with all types of foundation including powders. Its pearlized (neutral) peach is so versatile. I tried applying it with fingers and brush, both are not recommended. I like to swipe it directly on my face to adds spot glow. It’s subtle and beautiful. Overall a great product! The downside is that the beautiful glow doesn’t last too long and rubs off easily. Also, if you have very oily or breakout-prone skin, it may exacerbate both concerns due to the thickeners it contains.
Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder in Incandescent Strobe Light

IcanGWP: Anything “Hourglass” and “Ambient” gets my attention. I love the mirrored-finish packaging. What can you expect from the new Hourglass Strobe line? Well, what is Strobe, exactly? Strobing is a highlighting technique that intends to add dimension by using illuminating products. Whereas the original Ambient Lighting Powder is sold as a finishing product to add all-over radiance, its Strobe version is intended to be used as a spot highlighter, with more sparkle and shimmer!
If you literally want to glow but not look like a disco-ball, this product is exactly what you need. This shade, Incandescent Strobe Light, is a luxurious soft and sheer opalescent pearl. Don’t expect a pop of color from it. It is designed for the lit from within glow. It will create an elegant spot reflective glow for a classy and perfected look. Its silver-hued pearl is so beautiful and universal. This powder highlighter has more shimmer than others do, so to avoid the undesired sort of shine, those with oilier skin might want to be more selective about how and where these are applied.
If you desire, Hourglass suggests using Ambient Strobe Lighting Powder wet for dramatic look. The color swatches, both online and in stores, are not true-to-life. Once applied the gold color is almost imperceptible.

An active, vitamin-rich concentrate that can be used alone to hydrate and treat the skin, or can be infused into any product in your beauty regimen while offering the benefits of a potent, super-strength, hydrating serum. Custom Infusion Drops can be mixed with anything liquid: moisturizers, serums, oils, primers, foundations, and tinted moisturizers.
IcanGWP: Cover FX is definitely one of my favorite brands at Sephora. Recently, their makeup products have ranked among my most reached-for on the vanity e.g., Mattifying Primer With Anti-Acne Treatment or Cover Click Concealer + Foundation. The Vitamin C (Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate) is listed as an ingredient #5. Most ingredients are oils and dry finish silicone. It seems promising for all skin types. It has a light semi-floral and lemongrass scent that is not heavily perfumed and the scent fades soon upon application. Applied to bare skin, this calming oil blends easily and goes on somewhat silky but not greasy. It sets to a soft dewy finish. Those with very dry skin might want to check the Type F + Neroli – Hydration blend (the hydrating blend). I haven’t tried to mix it with anything liquid yet. But this oil’s dewy finish should enhance makeup application and, owing to the beneficial ingredients it contains, should replace the primer or highlighter steps in your morning skin-care routine.
Lancôme Glow Subtil Silky Crème Highlighter in Glowing Lights 06

Glow Subtil’s silky cream highlighter gives a delicate, refined glow to skin that highlights and illuminates your natural skintone. The highlighter allows for a vibrant, luminous color that adds a touch of radiance or can be layered for an intense glow so you can create a custom, soft-focused glow without a chalky or glitter-packed finish.
Suggested Usage:
-After applying Teint Idole Ultra 24H Foundation, use your fingers or a brush to apply Glow Subtil to the top of cheekbones, under the brow, the inner corner of the eyes, center of the chin, Cupid’s bow, bridge of the nose, and center of the forehead.
-Blend the formula for a beautifully soft and radiant look.

IcanGWP: Lancome’s skincare is among the brand’s better-known offerings, but its new cushion products are noteworthy as well—particularly its Glow Subtil Silky Crème Highlighter. This unique highlighter has a cushy and bouncy mousse texture. It’s so incredibly thin, silky and airy. It feels like a powder when applied. It is not tacky or greasy at all. It’s very long lasting.
This shade, Glowing Lights, is described on Sephora’s site as gold mine is also very unique. It’s the only shade in the range that is marbled (the others are just solid colors). This shade is hard to describe – warm rosy gold with a luxe sheen and bronze. On my light skin tone it adds a true dimension of warmth and a bit of nude gold radiance to my cheeks. This shade is very complementary on my skin tone something I had difficulty achieving from other highlighters. It contains a good mix of gold shimmers and a little bit of silver-hued shimmers that are stunning. I can see it working as a shimmery blush on fair complexions, and as a natural highlighter on deep skin tones.
This shade glowing lights looks much more beautiful on the skin than many well-known highlighters. It works as a bronzer, blush and eyeshadow, making this a true multi-tasker! I love applying it with a foundation brush. This highlighter doesn’t look natural when applied with my fingers – too patchy.
I also found out that this cream-to-powder bronzer works best with powder foundation. For those who wear powder foundation, it will actually grab onto the skin. Whereas powders need a base. I’ve noticed this application increases the longevity of my highlights. For only $30, I am pleasantly surprised how much I like this Sephora Exclusive Lancome highlighter. If you love highlighter cream, then you really need to try this gem (available in store too).

An allover oil in an easy, portable rollerball pen for hydration from head to toe.
Smooth on essential moisturization and brightness with Sunshine Oil. It’s enriched with a blend of mostly natural fragrance and essential oils, including grapeseed, avocado, grapefruit peel, tangerine peel, mandarin, and lemon peel, for supreme hydration.

IcanGWP: The applicator is a rollerball pen. We won’t waste this precious face oil from a droplet applicator. It’s handy and portable for instant touch-up without messy oil on your hands. But it’s a little difficult to control the amount of product. I wish this oil came in an elegant glass jar. The aroma reminds me of bright “sunshine” on a summer day. This product is an anti-oxidant rich power house of a beauty oil (7 of them). This golden oil will deliver its benefits for long-lasting and intensive hydration. I apply this lightweight oil at night and gently massage it in an upward motion to my face. You will see a slight sheen on skin where it’s applied and that should be good for a dewy look. Unfortunately, they include several citrus fragrance oils and fragrances that are not the first option for acne-prone skin like me or sensitive skin.

Quick Take
As someone who wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about highlighters,it takes more effort to blend smoothly and practice to use each product. I am limiting my stash to only products that I really use over and over again and this kit is a great way to try new highlighters and new shades. With proper understanding of the products in this kit and your face/skin, it will leave your skin looking like an angel surrounded by a divine halo, for $30! I found out that A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY – with all of them. I encourage you to try it in a store while you can. I don’t think you can be disappointed.
