Best Pore Minimizing Products

Here are 12 skincare products for pore minimizing in a list to share with you all.

Mild water-soluble cleanser

Avoid bar soap and thick or greasy cream cleanser – overly emollient can clog pore. Cleansers only stay on our face for a minute or so, I won’t try to get fancy exfoliant products at this step. Cleansing should clean your face. Avoid non-sphere shape scrub. Here’s the products I tried and like.

Caudalie Instant Foaming Cleanser

I haven’t tried these cleansers, but I think that they are going to be helpful for battling enlarged pores.

Paula’s Choice Clear Pore Normalizing Cleanser

Drunk Elephant Beste™ No. 9 Jelly Cleanser

BHA + AHA Treatment

AHA is good for dry skin. BHA is good for oily skin. If you have enlarged pores, BHA is a must. BHA exfoliates not only on the surface but also inside the pore where the clogs form.

I highly recommend gently exfoliating skin with a BHA. First of all, it helps to remove dead skin cells from the surface. When they don’t build up in the pore, it will appear tightener. Also, exfoliate deep inside the pore — builds collagen and improves its shape!

According to Paula’s Choice, Salicylic acid paves the way for diminishing pore size, but you can take the results to the next level by incorporating a targeted niacinamide solution. Once a pore has stretched beyond its normal size, niacinamide can help provide a “tightened-up” look by boosting skin’s healthy natural shape.

Paula’s Choice Resist Daily Pore-Refining Treatment – my BHA pore refining/acne treatment Hall of Fame. I promise a few drops can make all the difference. I can’t use it as a leave-on product, it really is strong. I can only leave it for a few minutes and follows by toner to stop the exfoliation.

Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial – This is a AHA + BHA physical strength product, get a sample and neck test.

Allies of Skin Promise Keeper Blemish Facial (AHA) (waitlists at Cult Beauty), in stock at B-glowing.

Paula’s Choice Resist BHA 9 – very strong product

Clinique used to have a beautiful mild clarifying toner that I can’t live without but they have changed it — Clinique Clarifying Lotion 1.0 version. I’m not into it anymore, Caroline Hirons and Beautypedia are also fuzzy about this change as well, sigh. Sigh…

Niacinamide Rich Products

The previous products are not as important as this step. Niacinamide is also a key!

According to Dermstore, Known as a jack of all trades within the skin care community, niacinamide has the ability to fight acne, aging, water loss and discoloration. Derived from vitamin B3, niacinamide is a cell-communicating ingredient that’s been shown to increase the ceramide and fatty acid levels within skin to prevent dryness and stimulate microcirculation in the dermis.

What’s that mean for your skin? The anti-inflammatory properties prevent acne flare-ups and aid in treating rosacea and psoriasis while the stimulation of new cells triggers your body to produce more collagen. This smooths the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while the ceramides retain moisture to prevent skin dehydration and sagging.

Ideal for teens and adults alike, niacinamide promotes a clear, smooth complexion. Suffering from acne and aging? Treat both at once with niacinamide. Serums, creams and lotions infused with niacinamide fight the inflammation that spreads acne and enhance collagen production to promote a more youthful appearance. Filter through Dermstore’s dermatologist-backed professional skin care to find the right niacinamide product for you.

These are some nice Niacinamide products you can try!

Paula’s Choice Resist 10% Niacinamide Booster

SkinCeuticals Metacell Renewal B3 (5% Niacinamide)

CeraVe PM Face Moisturizer for Nighttime Use

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% High Strength Vitamin and Mineral Blemish Formula

100% Pure Multi-Vitamin + Antioxidants Potent PM Serum (10% Niacinamide)

One important thing to note – For sensitive skin, concentrate Niacinamide (3%+) shouldn’t be used simultaneously with vitamin C. Niacinamide will change to niacin when mixed with vitamin C. Niacin can cause short term effects such as skin redness and tingling. Also, another important note – those pore minimizing primers are pretty nasty. They temporary filled your pores and blur everything. Having silicone in those poor pores all day — not cool.

Clay Mask

Please see this post for a list of nice clay masks.

Humidifier

Pamper yourself and get a good humidifier. I’m going gaga for humidity in the house. You’ll look 5 years younger with plumped, full, hydrated skin. I have both humidifier and dehumidifier in the house! When your skin is hydrated, it will naturally reduce enlarged pores.

I hope it’s helpful! What do you think? Any highly recommend pore reducing products that you can’t live without!?
