I’ve got Clinique black honey and Drunk Elephant in my box this month! What did you get? In this post, I’ll share with you a review of Play! by Sephora January 2017 beauty box. I have my favorites and I will let you know which ones are worth it!

IcanGWP Review: This CC cream is quite runny but a bit sticky. It works great as a color correcting item on areas that don’t have a lot of movement. It contains Titanium Dioxide 9.0%, Zinc Oxide 6.3%: Sunscreen and Snail Secretion Filtrate which are too sticky for me.

IcanGWP Review: I felt bummed that I didn’t get the box that contains Dermablend loose setting powder but Sephora knows their way. This product is currently out of stock. Hmm… it’s that popular. My international readers might be wondering what this brand Drunk Elephant is about? Despite an intriguing name, it’s an excellent brand that debuted recently in the US market. The philosophy is to only put simple, natural ingredient that will not hurt us in anyway. Don’t expect a smooth silicone-y finish or pleasant scent. It’s not about icing on the cake. This product is truly capable of rehydrating dry flaky skin. Instead of targeting a huge number of skin problems, Lala retro focuses on moisturizing and restoring skin. It can turn the most stubborn dry skin around and it’s safe for sensitive skin.

Tarte FRXXXTION Stick Exfoliating Cleanser

A twist-up, three-in-one facial cleansing stick.
Get your quick Frxxxtion fix with this three-in-one exfoliator, cleanser, and face mask all in a portable, solid-to-suds stick. With a clarifying cleansing gel powered by the Rainforest of the Sea™ complex and suspended diatomaceous earth microexfoliants, the vegan-friendly formula draws out surface oil and reduces shine, while purifying pores for the deepest clean possible.
IcanGWP Review: It looks like deordorant but it’s actually a roll-up cleanser stick. According to Tarte, we’re supposed to apply it directly onto damp skin in circular motions, then use our fingertips to massage and then rinse thoroughly two to three times a week. You can also wear it as a treatment mask, leaving it on skin for 10 minutes before rinsing. It’s fragrance free – Bravo! This product is a very dark purple – almost black because it contains a lot of Charcoal Powder.
It glides on super smoothly not sticky at all. The scrub beads are fine and they are made of fossilized sea algae. My skin felt so clean after. Tarte suggests wiping the excess product from the applicator to secure the cap tightly after each use. It’s gimmicky but if you are interested in trying a new twist of exfoliant bar soap, it’s for you.
CLINIQUE Almost Lipstick in Black Honey

A universally-flattering, ultra-light lipstick in an iconic shade that anyone can wear because it creates a one-of-a-kind lip look on everyone.
Not quite a gloss, and not quite a lipstick, this transparent lipstick fuses with the natural tone of your lips to create a lip look that’s unique to you. This sheer, emollient-rich formula glides on for easy layering.
IcanGWP Review: I’ve been dying to get my hands on this shade. Clinique Black Honey is simply fabulous! It’s a very deep, blackened raisin hue. It deserves to be the company’s best-selling lipstick shade. Its texture is lip-balm like. It’s very emoliant and thus perfect for dry lips or winter. There’s no scent or taste. It is a flattering color. The finish is sheer gloss. I will have so much fun to layer it with others. It seems like people claim it is universally flattering on every skintone. FYI – It’s not very pigmented, not super buttery and easy to break.

IcanGWP Review: According to Ouai: This product is suitable for all hair types, except very fine hair. You guys might have a better luck than me. My hair is long so this tiny sample can only cover my end part. It is quite liquidy and smells heavenly floral. I don’t see incredibly soft, smooth or shine compared to regular conditioner. It did help my hair to appear fuller and bouncier.
Quick take:
It’s winter, it’s blue and Sephora comes up with this January Play Box. I like the Black Honey and Lala retro. They are iconic products and I find I love these cult favorite items just like everybody else. I had fun trying out new six products. I like that they send out a little bit of everything. Sephora offers at least four types of Play Beauty Box this month. I hope they will keep offering customized box.

LOL the tarte cleanser is not that messy. I was trying to show you guys the charcoal powder in this product. It did look dark on my face but charcoal powder is fantastic and pulls all impurities out so well. Thanks Megan!
